Fotheringhay Village
Fotheringhay is a charming, picturesque village in East Northamptonshire. The 14th century church of St Mary's and All Saints with its octagonal lantern tower has much to offer visitors with its royal connections. Nearby stand the remains of Fotheringhay Castle; the birthplace of Richard III and where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and later executed. From the top of the mound you can easily imagine the castle that once occupied this site where there is an impressive view of the River Nene.
